Kosovo Diplomat Awarded "Ambassador for Peace"

Tokyo, 3 April 2019 – "Universal Peace Federation (UPF) – Japan" organization in its 35th Peace Diplomats Forum awarded the Kosovo diplomat serving in Japan, Mr. Arber Mehmeti, the “Ambassador for Peace” prize.

On this occasion the diplomat Mr. Mehmeti had the opportunity to address the participants with a short word. After greeting the participants and thanking UPF for organizing this forum, Mr. Mehmeti said that this is an appreciation he receives with great honor and the title "Ambassador for Peace" will serve as an additional motivation for his work and even greater dedication to building bridges and new collaborations between Kosovo and Japan. Diplomat Mr. Mehmeti also said that building and maintaining peace is not only for governments or diplomats, peace is the responsibility of all the societies and profiles of society, respectively organizations such as UPF - Japan has its role. At the end of his speech Mr. Mehmeti reminded that Kosovo in June 2019 will mark 20 years in peace, and also invited everyone to visit Kosovo.


“Universal Peace Federation (UPF) – Japan” with its Ambassadors for Peace global network, is a non-governmental organization with its headquarters in New York, USA, in a special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, which has been dedicated to building a culture of peace through promoting interreligious and interethnic dialogue, strengthening the family and marriage values, and assisting human development. Together with the Kosovo diplomat Mr. Mehmeti, there were six other diplomats awarded “Ambassador for Peace”.
