Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Japan, Sami Ukelli submits his Letters of Credentials to His Majesty, the Emperor Akihito, in Tokyo

Tokyo, 23 March 2010 - Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Japan, Sami Ukelli submitted his Letters of Credentials to His Majesty, the Emperor Akihito, in Tokyo. The ceremony was held in the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

His Majesty Emperor Akihito expressed his pleasure at meeting and accrediting the first Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Japan, and for the friendly relations between the two countries. He wished Ambassador Ukell success in his work.

Ambassador Ukelli passed on the greetings of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu, to the Emperor. While discussing friendly relations, Ambassador Ukelli affirmed that he would be committed to strengthening even more relations between the two countries.

Remembering Kosovo’s painful past, Emperor Akihito expressed his pleasure at Kosovo’s development in the short period of its existence as an independent state, wishing the people of Kosovo a prosperous future. Ambassador Ukelli assured Emperor Akihito that the relatively young Kosovar population is heading towards the future and will contribute toward peace in the world.
