Symposium “Skanderbeg: a national myth, a European hero”

On September 29, 2018, “Mother Teresa” Association with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo and Embassy of the Republic of Albania organized a Symposium in the framework of Skanderbeg's year on the topic “Scanderbeg: a national myth, a European hero”, in the municipality of Namur in Belgium.

Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bernard Nikaj and the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Suela Janina welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of this symposium as well as that of presenting Skanderbeg as an Albanian, and European hero. The mayor of Namur, Mr. Maxime Prevot also held a speech to greet those present at the symposium. This event was attended by many local and federal Belgian MPs.

The workings of this symposium were divided into two parts. During the thematic section historians Mr. Lek Pervizi, Prof.Dr. Nuri Bexheti, Prof. Ardian Marashi and Mr. Safet Kryemadhi presented their papers on the life and work of the national and European hero Scanderbeg. Meanwhile, in the artistic part of the symposium, cultural groups of the Albanian Diaspora in Belgium entertained the public with numerous artistic performances.
