The Ambassador Bernard Nikaj informed the Committee of Foreign Affairs for the European Integration Process of Kosovo
With the invitation of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Representatives House of the Belgian Parliament, the Ambassadors of the Western Balkans exchanged thoughts with the members of the Commission for the European perspective of the region and the importance of the Sofia Summit.
In his presentation, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Brussels, Bernard Nikaj thanked the Belgian state for supporting Kosovo and the region in the process of European Union integration. The Government of the Republic of Kosovo welcomes the Sofia Summit as an increase attention for the expansion process in the Western Balkans and he is grateful to Bulgaria for the given commitment during the Presidency of the European Union Council.
Concerning to the European perspective, the Ambassador highlighted the visit of EU leaders in Kosovo and the region. For Kosovo the visa liberalization is a great importance because it represents an opportunity of free movement and closer rapid association with the EU society. Regarding to European integration, Kosovo society is determined to be part of the European Union, and the next step is the application for candidate status.
Further, during the session there were opinion exchanges with the Commission’s members.
