Kosovo takes over officially the chairmanship of CEFTA,24 January 2018 - The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Brussels together with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and the CEFTA Secretariat has organized a panel discussion where the CEFTA priorities for 2018 under the chairmanship of Kosovo were presented.
In his introductory speech, Kosovo's ambassador to Brussels, Bernard Nikaj, said that the chairmanship of CEFTA is a good opportunity for Kosovo and hopes on mutually cooperate with all parties and expressed his conviction that Kosovo will push ahead the priorities.
The Minister of Trade and Industry Bajram Hasani said that Kosovo is honoured to take over the CEFTA chairmanship and he will engage to fulfil the obligations and to implement the agreements reached so far.
During this panel, were presented also the seven priorities of Kosovo chairmanship of CEFTA for 2018
The first priority will be the facilitation of free trade in goods; the second priority is the harmonization of CEFTA markets with the EU; the third priority is the creation of a free region of non-tariff barriers and the resolution of trade disputes; the fourth priority will be the facilitation of free trade in services; the fifth priority is to facilitate the free movement of experts and skilled workers and workers; the sixth priority is the free movement of investments; while the seventh priority is the institutional strengthening of the CEFTAS Secretariat.
